Mappin & Webb

This project explored the intersection of real-world capture and refined digital craft for Mappin & Webb’s online presence. Using iPhone-shot video and still imagery as a foundation, I composited high-end 3D jewellery elements seamlessly into each scene, creating visuals that feel contemporary while remaining rooted in the brand’s heritage of luxury.

Working through Thunderhawk Motion Studio, the focus was on producing elegant, restrained motion graphics that elevated the raw footage into something suitably premium for an upmarket audience. The 3D jewellery assets were created by a specialist freelance artist, with my role centred on compositing, look development, and ensuring the final pieces aligned with Mappin & Webb’s established visual language across their digital platforms.

The result is a series of refined, modern visuals designed to sit confidently within a luxury online environment. Subtle, crafted, and considered.

Compositing

Before adding the diamonds, I used Photoshop to composite the storefront into the final shot. Because the location was still under construction, the entire façade was built from architectural renders and supplied reference imagery.

To achieve a polished, luxury look, environmental distractions like bins, tree branches, and chewing gum were retouched, window elements refined, the top-floor blinds closed, and a sky replacement applied.
